The purpose of the SIG and of PivNet is to discuss scientific aspects of new developments of the PIV technique, including :

Laser technology
CCD camera technology
Particles and injection systems
Assessment of PIV performances
3D (and even 4D) information from PIV
Comparison of PIV results with DNS and LES results
Specific problems in two-phase flows
Fluid measurement toolbox

Four workshops are organized in Europe between 1998 and 2002. As needed, special focus on one of the topics will be decided for each workshop.

These workshops are open to all PivNet partners and to all ERCOFTAC members.
